My summer AC schedule on my Nest thermostat: comfortable while I work from home, then a gradual cool down for sleep. The ideal sleep temperature is between 60°F and 67°F. A cooler bedroom helps match your body’s natural drop in core temperature, making it easier to fall asleep and spend more time in deep, restorative sleep. What’s your AC set to?

My latest LEGO obsession: this adorable Oliver the beagle model. Movable legs, paws, tongue, collar, and tail. Way too cute.

The longest walk I’ve had recently at O’hare was landing at M40 in Terminal 5 and then trekking all the way to passport control. M40 to passport control is about 0.745 miles, so it’s definitely one of the longest arrival walks at ORD. Second runner up goes to C4 in Terminal 1.

Sending love, strength, and prayers to every family grieving, every survivor trying to heal, and every community beginning the impossible work of rebuilding. 💔🇻🇪

Just watched The Age of Disclosure on Amazon Prime, and wow… this is one of those documentaries that makes you sit up a little straighter. Widow’s Bay is horror comedy with actual teeth. A cursed island, small-town bureaucracy, Matthew Rhys spiraling through civic duty and demons. I love this show. Another Apple TV hit!

ChatGPT might be the best photo touch-up tool out there. I give it a simple prompt, the imperfections disappear, and the latest model somehow manages not to mangle the subject in the process.

I was inspired by today’s events. The opening of the Obama Presidential Center here in Chicago gave me hope. It was a reminder that our current struggles aren’t here forever. We’ve faced difficult times before, and we’ll get through these too. We will survive. We will persevere.

Damn. Had to book all the way out to November to get tickets for the Obama Presidential Center. Nice that they offer an Illinois resident discount.
